Biography
Elio
Gervasi born in Messina, lives and works in Rome since
1967. He attended the State Institute of Arts in Rome.
Artists such as Fabrizio Mochetti, Eliseo Mattiacci, Mario
Lucerna were his teachers.
He began to paint very young: in 1965 he exhibited his
first very coloured paintings, due to his particular love
for the sicilian popular art expecially hand-carts and
religious paintings. He still painting, exhibiting his
masterpieces all over the world.
In Rome he met important artists: Renato Guttuso ,Bruno
Caruso,Antonio Corpora, Giuseppe Cesetti. He received
a lot of favourable criticisms by different journalists:
Vittore Querel, Toni Bonavita, John Hart, Romana Bagni,
Franz Riccobono, Maria Teresa Prestigiacomo.
